Baptism

FAQs

  • Baptism represents Christ’s death (being submerged under the water) and resurrection (being raised up out of the water). It doesn’t make you a believer - it demonstrates you already believe. It doesn’t “save” you; only your faith in Christ does that. Much like a wedding ring is a symbol of marriage, wearing one doesn’t make you married. So it is with baptism. Baptism is an outward representation of an inside change.

  • Jesus was baptized by John in Mark 1:9. When we are baptized, we follow the example He set for us. By being baptized like He was, we demonstrate we really are believers. Additionally, Jesus told us we should be baptized. “Jesus said, ‘Go then, to all people everywhere and make them my disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.’” Matthew 28:19-20

  • We believe you should be baptized as soon as you have made a decision to become a Christ-follower! We are always ready to schedule a baptism and celebrate a new life in Christ!
